Welcome

Welcome

AHHA-HumCo’s Mission Statement:

AHHA provides information, education, advocacy and policy development for affordable housing with the homeless in Humboldt County. AHHA will facilitate the implementation of these alternative housing models by networking with private groups, nonprofits, public agencies, faith-based organizations, individual volunteers, and by partnering with the cities, county and others to ensure development and capacity building.

AHHA - Affordable Homeless Housing Alternatives

How we work together is as important as what we create together! We are striving to develop collaborative individuals and communities as we build affordable homeless housing alternatives. All are welcome to join us. AHHA is made up of a Board of Directors, Working Groups/Committees who work with each other and the larger Humboldt community on selecting sites, outreach, fundraising, media and reaching our goals, whether longer term or more short term, like creating sanctuary camps and micro housing villages. Wondering how you can chip in? Volunteer for AHHA’s Shower Care-A-Van and look at our Contribute page.

St. Joseph Health-Humboldt County Thank You and Acknowledgment

3-31-2020: AHHA would like to thank and acknowledge St. Joseph Health-Humboldt County for a $10,000 Care for the Poor community grant which they awarded to us earlier this year in support of the AHHA Shower Care-A-Van. Recently St. Joseph’s reached out to us to let us know that in light of the current pandemic health emergency caused by Covid-19 they have converted those funds to unrestricted use, allowing us to use for general operations and/or to prevent the spread of the virus and support the most vulnerable in our community. Kudos to St. Joe’s for being a good community partner! Thank you for stepping up and allowing us to do good work.
